Hello , everyone. I'm trying to find somewhere to ask questions about getting an appointment for someone who has never rented before. I'm trying to transition myself into a move to Florida. Every appointment I have viewed so far in the St. Cloud, Kissimmee and Orlando area requires a income three times. The monthly rent. I do not make $4,000 a month and never have. Is there something I can do to get around this or what apartments do you suggest I look for? They require a credit check, deposit, proof of employment and etc. I'm okay with the credit check and I can put down a deposit, but the proof of employment is tricky. I need to show them I'm currently working in Orlando , but how do I do that when I haven't even gotten an appointment to start working? I need someone to stay in order to vigorously look for employment. Any tips anybody has would be helpful.

3 games in a row my tm8s are constantly betraying everyone and not getting kicked, and the enemy team is apparently so terminally on this game they can just know exactly where i spawn and start firing before i even re spawn and keep camping there. It’s practically unplayable. Has it been this much of a circus for a while? I remember i used to actually enjoy it.

Long story made short, these assholes have been wiping their feet on my doormat as they walk to their own door. I don't mean stepping on or walking by, I mean full on deliberate going to my doormat, donkey-kick wiping their feet on my novelty door mat. Just a few minutes ago they tore my doormat.
I know doormats are meant to be used, especially in snowy areas, but this is ridiculous. My doormat is one month old and it already looks older than the 1year mat I had while the previous neighbors were here.
The leasing office won't do anything. Any ideas for petty ways to get back at them? (Nothing illegal)

You're not a Libertarian. You're all talk. I'm astounded at how many so-called Libertarians tucked tail and rolled the sleeve to avoid being inconvenienced. How easily so many bent over.
Liberty isn't convenient to preserve. It is always under attack. And if you aren't willing to risk anything, if you aren't willing to give up anything (besides your integrity, apparently) in defense of Liberty, then you aren't really on the side of Liberty.

Its been 6 days and I've been doing great. But today while grocery shopping I caught a whiff of weed. It was this couple and I tried so hard to just ignore it and keep shopping. Suddenly I got super hot and couldn't focus while trying to find butter.... boom panic attack. My bf is sober from other DOC and he just held me. I kept saying I felt stupid and I don't know why I'm crying. He told me its okay you're just triggered. He kept reminding me of how good I'm doing and he totally gets how I'm feeling. I'm so glad I moved to Iowa because I don't think I would have made it this long in California on my own. I still feel super emotional and upset that I couldn't keep myself together. It was a reminder that I'm still not totally free from my addiction and the fight isn't over. I'm going to take a nice long bath and play some soothing music. This is hard.

2022.01.21 23:35 SamTheScubaDiver Forced to sell my house, how to invest profits? (Southern Ontario)
My partner and I separated a few months ago. I bought out her share of the ownership for the house, but we had a joint mortgage and the mortgage company did not approve of her being removed from the title. They are calling our mortgage due as a result. I have been unable to qualify for a remortgage myself, am unable to obtain cosigners, and have failed with private mortgage companies.
As a result, I'm forced to sell my house. After everything is said and done, I'm expected to come out with ~$225k after the mortgage is repaid. I'm 25, have a fully maxed out TFSA, and am looking for insight about investment options since I'm unable to purchase another house and will be forced into renting. Here are the options I'm considering, both of which I'm equally on the fence about, although I am open to other ideas:
1) Investing the $225k into a margin account with intentions on purchasing the S&P 500.
My logic The S&P500 is a relatively safe investment as I am not in dire need of these funds anytime soon. Further, it has proven to show significant returns historically.
Potential downsides: Inflation is extremely high right now with interest rates about to rise. In these cases, economic growth usually declines (and thus stocks decrease in price or slow on growth). Further, I would be subject to capital gains as this would be in a margin account and not a TFSA.
2) I live in Windsor which is a border city to the USA. As a result, I have considered purchasing rental properties (1 or 2) in Ohio, which is approximately a 2 hour drive. Using these for an AIRBNB has also been a consideration.
My logic Again, I am not in dire need of these funds and real estate has been shown to have significant returns in the long run. I would also imagine this option allows me to offset the stress costs involved with having to rent. Additionally, Ohio has some of the least expensive housing in the USA and although raises in interest rates affect house prices, I would expect states with expensive housing to be affected more than states with inexpensive housing (Ohio).
Potential downsides: This option requires more effort and work from my end and with COVID, this may prove very difficult to manage. I would also be subject to income tax from the rental properties, closing costs, and paying capital gains when I sell the properties.
I've never been a landlord before which is why I'm having a difficult decision choosing between these options. I'm a pretty conservative investor and have seen these two options which minimize risk in the long-term (5+ years). Any feedback or suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance
